Florals are in. And no, we’re not talking about pretty posy patterns on a skirt or shirt. We mean floral fragrances, floral tastes and even edible flowers in your food. Foods such as 365 Everyday Value Lavender Lemon Granola and drinks such as Belvoir Fruit Farms Elderflower Lemonade are popular picks for 2018.
Powders are showing up everywhere. Nutrition bars, smoothies and even baked goods are all packed with the energy-boosting goodness of powders such as matcha, cacao and maca root.
Mushrooms are doing more than hanging out in salads. From chaga to reishi, mushrooms are popping up in bottled drinks (really), smoothies, teas, broths and even in soaps and hair care products, too.
When it comes to global cuisine, Middle Eastern treats are set to become big in 2018. Hummus, falafel and pita are all staples that started this food trend. If you’re into these treats, Aphrodite Halloumi and Saffron Road Falafel Crunchy Chickpeas may be for you.
Other food trends that Whole Foods is predicting for 2018 include choosing more transparent labels (such as GMO transparency), more plant-based options, puffed and popped snacks, tacos, using stems and leaves and sparkling beverages.
