Curb the munchies with these three kid-friendly snacks that have just hit the shelves. The new eats pack in flavor and healthy nutrients like vitamins, minerals and even veggies. The best part? You can easily grab-and-go since the new products are all great for snack time on the fly.
Plum Organics Go Bars
When stomachs begin rumbling, it’s go time for mom or dad to satisfy their kids’ craving. Before your little ones become hangry, reach for a Go Bar that features nutrients like carrot, sweet potato and kale, 25% less sugar than the leading chewy granola bar, and 12 grams of whole grains. Choose from three flavors: chocolate chip, chocolate brownie and snickerdoodle.
Available at plumorganics.com; boxes include 6 bars and retail for $3.99.
Minute Maid 100% Juice Bars
For warm days, swap out the ice cream cone or sugar-laced popsicle stick for this new warm weather treat that’s 100% juice. The popsicle-like snack is free of high fructose corn syrup, gluten and nuts (it’s made in a peanut- and tree nut-free facility). The juice bars are 2.5 fluid ounces (read: great for small hands) and come in three flavors: cheery, grape and orange.
Good to Know: There’s a perforated edge where you can tear off the bar’s top packaging, but we found that you might need scissors (or mom and dad’s teeth) to open the bars.
Available at jjsnack.com/minutemaid; boxes include 12 bars (3 of each flavor) for $3.59
CLIF Kid Zfruit + Veggie
After one nibble on this cool peel-able twisted rope, you may want to buy extra boxes and stash them away for yourself. The chewy organic fruit and veggie snack (think of it as a healthy fruit roll up or fruit leather) is made with vegetable puree and is gluten-free and USDA-certified organic. Choose from three flavors: Blueberry Blast, Cheery Cherry and Mango Mania.
Good to Know: The veggie ropes are free of partially-hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, trans fat, synthetic preservatives and artificial flavors.
Available at clifbar.com; boxes include 5 ropes and retail for $4.49.
