Father’s Day is the perfect time to show the men in our life how much we appreciate all that they do for our families. I feel like it’s one of the only holidays that’s really for them. Sure, everyone gets to celebrate a birthday and Valentine’s Day is a universal holiday, but one that seems to cater more to women than men. Because of this, my son and I always try to get really creative with Father’s Day gifts. No more neckties! Here are my top a few ideas for creative Father’s Day gifts any dad would love.

Healthy Gear

Whether or not the man in your life is into health and fitness, they can be! And what better way to start than by receiving a creative and thoughtful gift for Father’s Day?

If there’s a gym nearby, try purchasing him a gym membership. Encourage him to take some time for himself and go lift weights, run on the treadmill, or take a class. Most gyms offer some pretty awesome classes from spin to kickboxing. The gym might even have a pool where dad can do some laps or a physical therapist on hand that offers massages or chiropractic care.

Fitness trackers are another awesome Father’s Day gift, especially with so many new and innovative ones on the market. Not only do these trackers monitor the number of steps you take, but can also offer information on your heart rate, calories burned, and sleep. Some versions are even connected to your phone, allowing you to receive text messages and phone calls. This is the perfect health and fitness gift in disguise!

Workout gear is another great gift that doubles as a much-needed accessory. Try purchasing dad some new running shoes, a duffle bag for the gym, weights for the house, or even track pants or a name brand jacket or sweatshirt. You’d be surprised how inspired your man will get just by wearing athletic gear. It helps put your mind in the right place for fitness.

Kitchen Gear

Does dad enjoy spending time either in the kitchen or near the grill? Cooking utensils and accessories make some pretty great and practical gifts. My husband enjoys practical gifts because he can use them and get his money worth. Some of the best gifts I’ve seen and purchased myself include grills and smokers. There’s just something about a man and cooking meat. They love it! And pair it with a novelty apron and you have an awesome Father’s Day gift, just in time for summer and outdoor cooking!

Is your guy more into cooking in the kitchen? If he likes making smoothies or protein shakes, a blender or juicer makes a great gift. What guy doesn’t love a good sandwich? How about buying a panini press? Other fun gadgets include waffle makers, a pizza stone, pasta maker or soda maker! What makes these gifts even better is that the entire family can enjoy the final product.

Fun Gear

We know that all guys are big kids at heart so why not cater to their inner child and purchase them a fun gadget or tech gear for Father’s Day? Something that your kids and dad will love doing together is flying a drone! Drones can be pretty expensive, but not all of them are. You don’t need to get one that is overly complicated or high-tech, just something simple to fly around. If you’re looking for an alternative option, purchasing a remote control helicopter can be hours of fun as well.

Is your guy a movie buff? There are endless amounts of movie memorabilia and accessories that you can buy for Father’s Day. If he’s into Star Wars, how about some t-shirts, posters, pajamas, movie packs, or collectible figurines? If he’s more into superheroes, you can get a Neo Legend band that is identical to the one Tony Stark wore in the Avengers!

Party & Outdoor Gear

Whether it’s a backyard BBQ (with the new smoker) or a tailgating party, men love their party gear. One of the most popular and useful party supplies for any man is a cooler. Yeti makes some durable and quality coolers in all types of designs and sizes. You can even match that Yeti cooler with a great Yeti drinking cup. The company offers some amazing technology that keeps coffee hot and beer and soda cold.

Father’s Day is the perfect time to honor a dad’s favorite hobbies and outdoor activities. If he’s an avid fisherman, how about a new pole, net or even tackle box. You can even splurge on a surprise fishing trip for him and some of his buddies. Men like to get their hands dirty, even if it is on the miniature version of their favorite car. How about a remote control car that he can race up and down the street with the kids? Gas powered versions can reach a speed of up to 100 miles per hour! Working on the car can be another great project for him to do with the kids.

Get Creative

If you’re worried about getting dad a great Father’s Day gift on a budget, there are some great gifts that you and the kids can make! Buying a mug in your guy’s favorite color and then personalizing it is a great place to start and something he will likely cherish forever. Make it funny by adding a mustache or funny face. Even the youngest kids can get involved in painting the mug however they want. Paint pens work perfectly for this project.

If you’re looking to create a gift on a budget, making any type of basket is a great choice. Purchase an inexpensive basket and fill it with some of your guy’s favorite items. Does he enjoy washing his car? Put in some cleaner, sponges, and car wax. Is he a sports fan? How about a new mouse pad, hat, or keychain that resembles his favorite team? Making him a care package of his favorite things will show just how much you care.

Father’s Day Fun

When it comes to Father’s Day, the most important thing is to have fun and to get personal. Think of what your guy likes and start there. Practical gifts go a long way and are often enjoyed by the entire family. And, as always, it’s the thought that counts!
