JuggleMania with Shoehorn

“JuggleMania with Shoehorn” joins two of the Northwest’s most dynamic, talented and funny entertainers for a unique family friendly show at The Village Ballroom (700 NE Dekum St., Portland, OR 97211) on Sunday, April 13 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Though they have performed all over the country and the world (Jordan, Egypt, Russia, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Western Europe, Latin America, over 30 countries total) together and separately, this is a rare chance to see them together in their hometown of Portland. “JuggleMania with Shoehorn” may contain a teddy bear escape artist, the world’s only rat vest, a growling Chinese yoyo, and an eyeball juggling goddess. “JuggleMania with Shoehorn” definitely contains two of the Northwest’s most unique and engaging variety performers in a show packed with hilarity & dexterity. Knives fly, plates spin, tiny pianos play and volunteers become part of a show that is often compared to Pixar for its all-ages appeal. Daredevil comedian Rhys Thomas performs internationally as a juggling Physicist and nationally as a prop comic whose multi-dimensional jokes are funny for different reasons to different age levels (“Is a children’s festival held when you plant them or when you harvest them?”). Mr. Shoehorn is known around the world as a highly-skilled tap dancing saxman and multi-instrumentalist who acts as a “one-man pit orchestra” playing cues on up to 15 different instruments. He’s the real juggler. “JuggleMania with Shoehorn” is sooooo Portland. Doors open at 3:30. Show is from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be sold by the Oregon Public House. Tickets are $5 advance, available through Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/615013 $7 at the door if still available. This is part of a series of family friendly shows at the Village Ballroom. They host weekly musical events every Tuesday (Mr. Ben) and Wednesday (Red Yarn) at 10 a.m. and every Friday at 11 a.m. (Mr. Hoo from The Alphabeticians). The Sunday shows continue on 4/27 with The Rainy Day Family. Tickets for all shows are available at Brown Paper Tickets (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/), search for Village Ballroom.
