Caring for sick kids can be complicated, but a new batch of family-focused and user-friendly apps aims to help parents and caregivers provide appropriate health care with confidence. Flip through our slideshow of some of the most useful apps to help care for little patients.

ICE

Few people want to think about preparing for worst-case scenarios—until it’s too late. In cases of emergencies, having easily accessible emergency medical contact information can sometimes mean the difference between life and death. The ICE app puts user’s health information and emergency medical contacts on smartphone lock screens, so in the case of an accident, EMTs and first responders can readily find health information on users’ phones. For parents, the app serves double duty by acting as an easy access way of finding pediatrician and pharmacy phone numbers.

Available for iOS, Free.
