the scoop:

Surrounded by colorful Maya textiles from Guatemala in the special exhibition Threads of Time: Tradition and Change in Indigenous American Textiles, kids will hear the story of Esperanza, a Maya girl who learns to weave beautiful clothing and tapestries from her grandmother. They’ll then stitch and stamp paper huipils (traditional tunics) inspired by Esperanza’s designs from this beautiful book by Omar S. Castañeda. For ages 3–5.
