Party people, we’ve got a doozy of a weekend for you. With the free Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, Morningside Mile Race and Block Party, and the Rescue Dog Olympics on the agenda this weekend, you can take your pick from solid neighborhood fun, then unwind at an amazing family performance at The Alliance or Center for Puppetry Arts. Free Learn to Ride a Bike Classes on the BeltLine
Kids ages 4-11 can learn how to ride a bike through step-by-step, REI-instructor led activities, and adolescents and adults ages 12 and over who want to learn to ride a bike or need to relearn the basics can attend a class just for them and learn to start and stop smoothly while balancing comfortably on a bike. REI Novara bikes and bike helmets will be provided for ages 12 & up, but children under 12 should bring their own. Sun. Event details.

Morningside Mile Race and Block Party
Don’t miss the annual Morningside Mile race and block party, with 100% of the race profits donated to renovate the historic Virginia-Highland Fire Station 19. After the race, enjoy a block party full of music, food provided by Doc Chey’s and the ninth annual Noodle Eating Contest! Runners will receive either a complimentary SweetWater beer at Doc Chey’s or a sweet treat from Alon’s Bakery & Market when race number is presented. Sun. Event details.

Cherry Blossom Festival 
The cherry blossoms are blooming and Brookhaven is excited. This year’s festival will showcase artists, local musicians, a classic car show, a pet expo and stunt dog show, with a Children’s Village that includes face painting, flair hair, balloon twisting, sand art, bounce houses, and a climbing wall. Rescue Dog Olympics
All dogs (they don’t have to be rescue pups) and their humans are welcome at this fun, easy dog Olympic competition and festival. The games are free and participants can pre-register or just show up and play on the day of the event. The Dragon King at Center for Puppetry Arts

Cinderella and Fella at The Alliance Theatre
This rendition of the Cinderella story is more high-tops than glass slipper, and is fueled by the magic of lightning bugs, singing cicadas, and oozing mud. The young prince, who was raised by an overbearing parent, searches the kingdom for a best friend ready for adventure. Cinderella, who has spent countless days pulling her ungrateful stepmother around in her tiny house, fits the bill. Filled with humor and wonder, this is a world-premiere adaptation by Atlanta’s own Janece Shaffer with music by Renee Clark. Sat. & Sun. Event details.

Dinosaur! at The Alliance Theatre
Check out this amazing collaboration between The Alliance Theatre for the Very Young and the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, developed in partnership with science educators from the museum. It’s a gentle and awe-inspiring introduction to the wonders of the pre-historic world, where audience members interact with some of the largest dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth. Sat. & Sun. Green Market at Piedmont Park
It’s the first weekend of the weekly Green Market, a local farmers market serving Atlanta’s population with fresh, clean, local food.
