TiredDad

Drive Him To Distraction
If he has a need for speed, treat him to the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure (Saturday, times vary) at the Atlanta Motor Speedway where he can drive over 165 miles per hour on the track. Or, if you are feeling like a splurge, check in to The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation where dad can see the sights in style via The Ritz-Carlton BMW Driving Tour with complimentary access to one of BMW’s nine newest models and three hours of personal drive time.

Visit A Father-Friendly Fest
Give your dude live music and a lot full of food trucks and he’ll be in (slow-roasted) hog heaven. Kick off the weekend with the family-and-father-friendly Decatur Beach Party (Friday 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm). Or, swing by the Midsummer Music and Food Festival (Friday, 4:00 – 11:00 pm, and Saturday, 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm) in Candler Park to sample some street food and the best of local bands. If jazz is more his thing, head over to Villa Christina for their 10th Annual Summer Jazz Series (Sunday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm). Load up the car and truck on down to Rock Ranch for farm-fresh fun at their annual Blackberry Festival (Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm). They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach—so don’t miss the Real Men Cook event at the Georgia World Congress Center on Sunday from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm where he can sample a smorgasboard of delicious eats.

DaddysDay

Give Him Some Air
If the man of your house prefers to spend his time outside it, support his heart-healthy efforts by cheering him on—or better yet—joining in on the fun. Suit up for the Chattahoochee River Race Festival (Saturday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm) where anyone over age five can make a splash. Let him relish racing for home plate with the Braves Country 4M race (Saturday, 6:00 am) that includes a kid-friendly 50-meter dash and tickets to see the Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants game. Or, pack up the gang and make it a weekend adventure to Pine Mountain with the Callaway Gardens Fitness Series Sprint Triathalon (Sunday, 8:00 am). The family-friendly event is perfect for first timers and welcome parents who wish to “escort” their kids.

Get Up and Go!
Still searching for something special? Try a picnic at one of Atlanta’s ten best parks and playgrounds. Go for a spin on one of the city’s best bike trails for tots, or go berry picking at an area farm. If you are feeling adventerous, go letterboxing or surprise dad with breakfast backyard camping style. No matter how you fête father’s day, be sure to shower dad with many acts of love!
