FIT4MOM Roswell Alpharetta just won a Totally Awesome Award for “Most Awesome Invigorating Fitness Program” in Atlanta. We recently spoke to them about their experience as a business owner, the best advice they’ve ever received and more. Hear what they have to say below!
Red Tricycle: Your community recently voted you “Most Awesome Invigorating Fitness Program” – what do your customers value most about your business?
FIT4MOM: FIT4MOM is much more than a workout program. Many of our moms initially join us for the Stroller workouts but they then realize that our greatest value is our “Village”. At FIT4MOM, we are all moms who understand both the blessings and struggles of motherhood. Our goal is to give moms strength for motherhood in both fitness and friendships.
RT: What do you want people to know about your business that they don’t already know?
FIT4MOM: Many people do not realize that we offer several social activities for both the children & moms. These include weekly Field trips, Music classes, Crafts, Park Play dates, Book Clubs and Mom Nights Out.
RT: How did your business get started and what was the motivation?
FIT4MOM: FIT4MOM is a franchise location from the original program based is San Diego. The program was started 15 years ago by a mother who wanted to connect with other moms and incorporate fitness with her baby. The program first launched Stroller Strides (a circuit training class) and then added Stroller Barre (Ballet & Pilates class). Finally, the Body Back programs was added for moms who want to focus on their individual fitness goals through both nutrition & exercise. Our location opened 2.5 years ago in Roswell and we have since expanded into Alpharetta. Other franchise locations have joined us in Woodstock, Peachtree Corners and Flowery Branch.
RT: Tell us, what do you start your morning with: 1. coffee 2. tea 3. mimosa 4. water 5. all of the above.
FIT4MOM: I think most moms can relate that I start my morning with a strong cup of coffee! Right after that coffee, we are out the door for workout classes!
RT: What is the most awesome thing a customer has ever done for you?
FIT4MOM: Our moms are best! I love to hear when a mom says that FIT4MOM has had a positive impact of her life or on the life of her child. When a mom shares a personal story of what FIT4MOM has done for her family, it makes all of the effort worth it!
RT: What is your biggest pet peeve as a business owner?
FIT4MOM: I don’t have a pet peeve! This is my passion that I have been able to turn into a business. When you love what you do, you don’t sweat the small stuff.
RT: How do you keep your stress levels down?
FIT4MOM: We have a number of moms who help make our Village run smoothly. Sharing the teaching responsibilities with our amazing team of fitness instructors and sharing the social responsibilities with our Playgroup Captains helps me to keep the stress levels down.
RT: What’s your secret superhero power as a business owner?
FIT4MOM: My secret talent is getting the kids engaged with singing and games during our workouts. I love to see the kids having fun while their moms are getting a workout!
RT: Tell us, what is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (as a parent or business owner)?
FIT4MOM: Delegate whatever you do not enjoy doing. As moms, our time is our most precious commodity. I was told early on to ensure that your time is wisely spent doing the things that mean the most to you & your family. For me, this means that I have hired help cleaning the house and I have started using the online grocery pickup services.
RT: How about the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?
FIT4MOM: Any advice that leads to feeling guilty about my parenting. I feel there are so many conflicting opinions about how children should be raised and as moms, our mom-guilt is rampant. My goal is to always lift up and avoid any shaming.
RT: Is there a special offer you’d like to include for Red Tricycle readers?
FIT4MOM: We invite all Red Tricycle Readers to join us for 2 Free Classes! Come check out our Stroller Strides & Stroller Barre classes!
