Cupcakes and cake pops—you have had your moment. Sure, you’re cute, but you just don’t hold a candle to an old-fashioned birthday cake when it comes to celebrating with our wee ones. We prefer to slice up the real deal, and these bakeries below serve up tiers that are the talk of the town.

Cake Hag

You can thank these lovely ladies for starting the “doughssant” craze (Atlanta’s version of the “cronut”). And while they sell out of the devilishly delicious doughnut-croissant hybrid in addictive flavors like Brandied Peach and Caramel Bacon, they also offer a selection of custom cakes for under $100. This mother-daughter team works out of a church kitchen in Grant Park, and will work with you to craft a cake that is a treat for the eyes and the tummy.
