Disneyland and LEGOLAND will no doubt be on the vacation wish list, but we’re here to tell you the following museums are giving amusement parks a serious run for their money. From tiny towns to giant locomotives, your kiddos will be begging to stay another day. Click through the gallery below to learn about our favorite spots from across the country.

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum, Las Vegas

With nine themed exhibition halls totaling 26,000 square feet of interactive hands-on core exhibits, this spot is exactly what you'd expect to find in Vegas. It’s hard to miss The Summit, a 70-foot tower covering 22,000 square feet with 12 levels of engaging, hands-on play. Kids can lift a car with a lever and (if they make it!) take a peek at the amazing roof at the very tippy top. Check out a mini Hoover Dam in Water World, become royalty for the day in Discovery Castle or watch your crawling cuties wander around Toddler Town—a desert-themed space complete with trains, tunnels and art zone.
