Jockey’s Ridge State Park – Nags Head, Nc

Is it any wonder the Wright Brothers hung around Nags Head and Kitty Hawk in the Outer Banks of North Carolina trying to reach great heights? Ideal wind conditions and the largest natural dunes on the East Coast make Jockey’s Ridge State Park ideal for high-flying fun. To this day, you’ll see a vast number of kites dotting the sky and not only is the Outer Banks home to the Wright Brothers National Memorial but it’s also where the Wright Kite Festival (among several other kite-themed events) happens every year.
