Your kids spend hours drawing outside the lines and dreaming up cool creations with found objects. After all, nothing makes you happier than encouraging their creativity and imagination. For Portland parents looking to continue the building and creativity beyond the walls of your home, visit The Craft Factory, a locally owned family enterprise in Multnomah Village that offers drop-in craft time and birthday party packages.

Think of The Craft Factory as your one stop shop craft studio. Owned by Portland parents Melissa and Ed, the studio features drop-in craft times for all ages. Many of the materials at the studio are recycled or repurposed, which serve to encourage your kiddo’s imagination.

Simply drop into The Craft Factory anytime the creativity bug hits—no reservations necessary. For $12, each child can choose one craft base and unlimited embellishments while creating for an unlimited amount of time during normal business hours. Looking to make more than one creation? Each additional craft base is $6.

Beyond the drop-in craft sessions, The Craft Factory also hosts birthday parties, weekly Friday morning toddler time, monthly special events, Grandparents day, Summer Camps and more.

The best part? You make the mess and they clean up!

In Brookside Park next to the historic Rose Bowl, Kidspace Children’s Museum is an industry leader in the field of informal, free choice learning whose mission is to nurture the potential of all children through kid-driven experiences, inspiring them to become joyful, active learners.

In its 40-year history, Kidspace has brought families together to learn and play, serving over 5-million guests in the greater Los Angeles area. Located on nearly three and a half acres in Pasadena, California, Kidspace Children’s Museum has more than 40 hands-on exhibits, beautiful outdoor spaces, programs, and special events that are designed to encourage a child’s growth through exploration of natural environments, investigation in science, and artistic expression.

An incredible place of learning and discovery, the purpose of a children’s museum is to inspire children to learn and grow, equip parents and teachers, and to be a safe place where learners of all abilities can do so at their own pace and focus on topics of interest to them. This is often referred to as “Free Choice Learning.” What makes children’s museums different from a school is the approach to informal education. We believe in giving our guests hands-on experiences that are relevant and inspiring.
