Reindeer flights to the North Pole are hard to finagle this time of year — they’re busy, ya know? But several Chicago-area streets are outfitted with enough twinkly lights and decorations to make you feel like you’re on a merry Arctic getaway. They’re dubbed “Candy Cane Lanes” and you’ll understand why at first glance. Click through our gallery to discover the spots in the city and ‘burbs that will get you in the holiday spirit.

Becket Avenue – Westchester

Once upon a time, a quiet suburban street in the magical land of Westchester held a summer block party bedecked with dangling street lights. What began as a warm-weather fete evolved into full-fledged holiday merriment when one neighbor began decorating trees during the holiday season. One by one, other households began to join in on the fun. Eventually, the Westchester Park District even started sponsoring house decoration contests. And everyone lived happily ever after. Located off 31st Street, a half-mile east of Wolf Road in Westchester.
