Reindeer flights to the North Pole are hard to finagle this time of year — they’re busy, ya know? But several Chicago-area streets are outfitted with enough twinkly lights and decorations to make you feel like you’re on a merry Arctic getaway. They’re dubbed “Candy Cane Lanes” and you’ll understand why at first glance. Click through our gallery to discover the spots in the city and ‘burbs that will get you in the holiday spirit.

Roscoe Village – Chicago

Leave it to one of the homiest ‘hoods in Chicago to host an annual holiday lights contest for businesses and residents. Throughout December, Roscoe Village Neighbors encourages anyone and everyone to enter the contest and deck out their properties with as many lights and decorations as possible. The results are a win-win for locals and visitors alike, as the entire neighborhood turns into a winter wonderland of glowing sights and scenes. Located throughout the Roscoe Village neighborhood.
