Reindeer flights to the North Pole are hard to finagle this time of year — they’re busy, ya know? But several Chicago-area streets are outfitted with enough twinkly lights and decorations to make you feel like you’re on a merry Arctic getaway. They’re dubbed “Candy Cane Lanes” and you’ll understand why at first glance. Click through our gallery to discover the spots in the city and ‘burbs that will get you in the holiday spirit.

North School Park – Arlington Heights

If your ideal Christmas curiously involves a three-mast ship, a windmill and a carousel, then you’re in luck, because North School Park exists. This Arlington Heights wonderland contains some of the largest, most wow-inducing holiday structures in the area, positioned adjacent to the village’s decorated evergreen tree. Located at the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street in Arlington Heights. Info online at ahpd.org.
