Good news, folks! You’ve got a pretty good reason to hit up your favorite donut joint! National Donut Day is Friday, June 3 and it’d be a crime not to join in on the sugary action. Our Fave: Maple Bacon Long John

Why We’re Sweet on It: A full-length peppery bacon strip on a maple glazed donut. Very little can go wrong here. If savory’s not your jam, the red velvet is a close second.

The Digs: A few tables and chairs at some locations offer welcome repose, which is great considering your tot will want to hunker down with that sugary ring. Like, now.

Perks: Consider your next special event covered: look for birthday donuts (including a ginormous cake-sized one), donut hole-and-sprinkles-fondue platter, gender reveal donuts, and mini versions by the dozen. The Lincoln Park location can hold birthday parties and showers, and is a perfect after-school pit stop. It’s open weekdays until 6 p.m.
