Jewish Council for Youth Services

“Enriching the lives of Chicagoland’s children and families has been our mission for more than a century. At JCYS family centers children are treated with respect and love in an educational environment that is creative, exciting, fun, and inspiring. We provide high-quality, developmentally-appropriate programs that enhance children’s self-esteem, socialization, problem-solving skills and multicultural awareness. With our emphasis on process over product, children learn to work through challenges and activities, fostering a love of learning at all stages of development.

Whether it be Infant & Toddler Care, Half or Full-day Preschool, Kindergarten Enrichment, Special Needs programming, Day Camps, or Summer Camps, JCYS offers flexible scheduling to meet the changing needs of our families. Our play-based curriculum takes inspiration from the Reggio approach of early childhood education. This approach values social learning and embraces the central role of the learning environment.

Conveniently located in Lakeview, Wicker Park, Highland Park, and Buffalo Grove, JCYS family centers welcome families of all faiths and backgrounds. Our curriculum teaches Jewish values and traditions such as the importance of family, caring and acceptance of others, tzedahah (charity), education, and the environment. ”
