Chicago is a music city — especially for families. Nearly every weekend you can find a kindie rock concert everywhere from libraries to play spaces to museums. Things really come alive during the holidays. Chicago kindie-folk starlet Little Miss Ann put together this photo album, which is full of picks for the season’s best shows and gives you an inside look at the local musicians who will rock them. Flip through the album and jam out.

Justin Roberts

Why he rocks:
The former Montessori Pre-K teacher-turned-kindie rocker has a Grammy nomination and has been called "the Buddy Holly of the kids' world." He has been compared to everyone from Elvis Costello to Paul Simon. Justin’s great lyrics and catchy melodies will have you hooked, especially on his latest CD called “Recess.”

His favorite holiday memory:
Says Justin, "My favorite holiday has always been Thanksgiving. I have many fond memories of sitting around the dining room table with relatives from near and far as it's snowing outside and we're warm and laughing around the table."

His holiday gig:
The kickoff of the holiday season is the downtown BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Get in the spirit of the holidays at the free Justin Roberts concert at the festival on Saturday, November 23, at 11 a.m. Head to the BMO Harris Bank Stage, 401 N. Michigan Ave.
