Summer is a great time to get out and about to explore the yummy parts of our great city. The mushrooming dining scene in Chicago constantly keeps us on our toes — new and fantastic eateries seem to pop up daily. In fact, according to the City of Chicago, there are more than 7,300 restaurants! Why not take to the streets, with kiddos in tow, and have a dessert fete? Go on a sugary adventure and indulge in the best that Chicago has to offer—here are a few to get you started.

Nutella Cafe

Just in time for the end of school, Chicago is getting the United State's first-ever Nutella Cafe. Ferreo USA, the company that owns Nutella, will open the doors of this two-level eatery on May 31. Much different from the Nutella Counter inside Eataly across the street, at the new Nutella Cafe you'll feel like you're dining inside the jar of the chocolate-hazelnut goodness. Order Nutella-everything: crepes, gelato, yogurt parfaits, croissants, fruit fondue, grilled baguettes, shortbread cookies, panna cotta, brown butter cake — the works! And, for mom and dad? There will be a full espresso bar that offers, you guessed it, a Nutella drizzle. Families no longer have to eat Nutella straight out of the jar by the spoonful in private . . . they can do it out loud and proud at Nutella Cafe.
