Sir Richard Branson can step aside, because sending your mini-Galileo to the Milky Way has never been easier. From world-renowned institutions to intimate space settings, budding stargazers can reach the outer limits of the galaxy without leaving Planet Earth. Flip through the gallery below for nine spots worthy of your cosmos-crazed kiddo.

Burke Baker Planetarium – Houston, Tx

The planetarium in the Houston Museum of Natural Science re-opened in March of 2016; featuring the clearest, highest resolution digital laser projection system on Earth—the Evans & Sutherland Digistar 5 digital True8K planetarium system—which enables visitors to fly through the universe, experience the vastness of space, roam planetary surfaces, navigate asteroid fields, and watch the latest full-dome shows. If there’s time left after your space travels, stop by George Observatory—an entirely different section of the museum—for a lesson in meteorites, an experience in the Discovery Dome, and more.

Insider Tip: The dome theatre is also used to train NASA Space Shuttle astronauts in identifying starfields!
