A walk a day keeps the doctor away. And with fall starting to show off its true colors, there’s really no excuse to not get out and about with your crew. Here are nine awe-inspiring jaunts (full of amazing foliage) that aren’t the least bit spooky; they are, however, photo-ready and fun for the whole family…with a few seasonal surprises thrown in for good measure.

Catoctin Mountain Park

Located in Thurmont Md., this protected forest offers multiple opportunities for any age group to get in some serious leaf watching. There's a short nature walk to a waterfall for shorter legs, or a 3.5 mile loop that includes Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock for the more adventurous ones in the bunch.
