the scoop:

Once a month, we turn up the heat on food history in the demonstration kitchen at the National Museum of American History with the program Cooking Up History. Each program showcases a guest chef and a Smithsonian host preparing a recipe and talking about the history and traditions behind its ingredients, culinary techniques, and enjoyment. In April, to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month, we will explore the long history and relationship between food and jazz with guest chef Rock Harper.
