Swing by the Skirball to see Two Man Gentlemen Band in an afternoon of American jazz and Western swing as a part of the Family Amphitheater Performance series. The theme of this year’s series is A Musical Road Trip Through America, inspired by the exhibition Bill Graham and the Rock & Roll Revolution. Rev up the engine and head to a jazz club in the Windy City, a Latin hip-hop club in L.A., the Fillmore in San Francisco, and the Grand Ole Opry. The whole family is invited along for the ride! Performances at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

Explore the Wonders of the Annual BayLUG Holiday LEGO® Show The Museum of American Heritage (MOAH) is hosting the LEGO® User Group’s (BayLUG) and Bay Area LEGO® Train Club’s (BayLTC) Annual Holiday LEGO® Show Pop-Up Exhibit. BayLUG and BayTLC are displaying a treasure trove of festive holiday scenes. Browse though the imaginative holiday creations, which include intricate holiday trains, miniature cities, suspending sparkly LEGO® ornaments, unique holiday scenes, and beautiful snowflakes! Come check out this pop-up exhibit on display now in our historic Frank Livermore Learning Center. The exhibit will run until Jan. 15, 2017 (Fri. to Sun. from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.). The museum is closed on Dec. 24 to Dec. 25, 2016 and Jan. 1, 2017. General admission is $3 per person; cash only at the door. No strollers in the galleries during this time; they must be parked outside. Note: MOAH is unavailable to take private tours during the LEGO® pop-up exhibit. Street parking only. Disabled parking available; call in advance for accommodations. MOAH’s gardens will be closed to the public during the LEGO® pop-up exhibit. An adult must accompany children at all times in the exhibit. Museum of American Heritage The Museum of American Heritage (MOAH) celebrates the rich history of technological innovation from 1750 to 1950. MOAH maintains a diverse collection of over 5,000 electrical and mechanical artifacts. The Museum of American Heritage is located at 351 Homer Avenue in downtown Palo Alto, California. In celebration of the National Park Service Centennial, Point Reyes National Seashore Association and the Park Service are hosting a series of events for children and families in 2016 as part of the national Every Kid in the Park program. Join expert mycologists to learn about fungi in the many Point Reyes habitats. See the remarkable colors and shapes of the wide variety of mushrooms collected in the park. Learn what makes fungi unique while exploring the beauty of Point Reyes National Seashore. Children's activities begin at 9:30 AM. Mushroom collecting walks led by experienced mushroom educators commence at 10 AM. Groups will return to the Red Barn with their finds for identification at 1 PM. Nature Detectives is a program for 3 to 5 year old children and their caregivers, designed to inspire curiosity and imagination by exploring the natural world through hikes, experiments and crafts. It meets on the first Saturday of every month as well as every Friday afternoon. Fridays, January 6, 13, 20, & 27, 1:00pm-1:45pm Saturday, January 7, 11:00am-12:00pm Some animals (like people) have backbones and many do not. Come to the Interpretive Center to discover the wild backboneless creatures that live in the tidal zone and in the bay. Ages 3 to 5. Fee: $8 per child.
