Beech Mountain, North Carolina (Appx. Population 330)

This tiny ski resort town is fam-friendly to the max. Kids love the free sledding hill maintained by the town, while the ski resort (Beech Mountain Resort) has an excellent learn-to-ski program for tykes as young as four. Warm up at the Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria off the parkway, known for a cool family vibe with arcade games, an outdoor fire pit, and a dessert bar.
