Whether you’re a big buff or a little buff, these historic sites, antique collections, and interactive exhibits will keep you clickety-clacking down the track. Colorado Railroad Museum – Golden, Co

Families can find out how the West was won at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. You'll wander through the 15-acre rail yard and take in the locomotive, steam engines, and cabooses that dwarf little train enthusiasts. Don't miss Open Car Saturdays at the museum, a day that's made for breaking rules—little rebels and their parents can explore usually off-limits vintage equipment during this special time.
