You know what they say: the family that cooks together… could end up on a major national TV show together? The Food Network is casting for a new “Family Food” competition. Okay, okay, so this isn’t a competition for every family. If your culinary skill level falls somewhere between boxed mac and cheese and a bowl of oatmeal, you might want to hold off. So what are the casting directors looking for?
You know how some cooking competition shows pit novice or not-so-professional cooks against one another. These non-chefs are kind of culinary whizzes in their own right, but they also aren’t working in Michelin star restaurants. Well, this show is looking for someone in-between (that is, families of three or more).

To qualify for this new, as-yet-unnamed show, everyone in your family (meaning everyone who is auditioning) needs to be a chef. Yes, a real chef—or professional cook. Sorry, no five-year-old spaghetti-makers or nine-year-old pancake flippers for this one.
The show will film this July; if selected, you’ll need to be available from Jul. 15 through 19. If you meet the requirements, head on over to FamilyFoodCasting.com and fill out the online survey.
