Muggles, rejoice! You won’t have to schlep to Orlando or Los Angeles to visit the magical world of Harry Potter, because a holiday-themed Potter experience may soon be coming to a shopping center near you.
Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Global Experience Specialists, the company behind the traveling Harry Potter: The Exhibition, recently announced that it will be installing a wintry Hogsmeade village (it’s the magical town where wizards stock up on supplies for their spells) to select U.S. malls this fall.
“This holiday season, we are excited to introduce new Christmas-themed experiences that further extend J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World into the lifestyle of our fans and consumers,” Peter van Roden, senior vice president of global-themed entertainment at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, said in a statement.
Anyone wanting to see where Harry gets his enchanted, phoenix feather wand will be able to visit the famous Ollivander’s wand shop (until now only open at Universal Hollywood and Universal Orlando resorts) as well as marvel at an intricate set featuring animated windows, interactive elements and a bustling village design.
Of course, no Harry Potter attraction would be complete without a few magical ways to lighten your wallet: visitors to the village will be able to take holiday photos with a selection of Harry Potter backgrounds; and, there will be all sorts of Potter merchandise for sale, including sweaters, robes, plush owls and collectables.
Exact locations for the villages have not yet been announced.
