Editor’s Note: The launch of our new community forums has been delayed for a few weeks, but that hasn’t stopped readers, who are eager for feedback from other moms, from submitting their pressing questions. We’ll be posting submissions in this format every week until our forums launch. You can offer your feedback in the comment section, or ask your own question to our audience here.

Red Tricycle reader Anna M (name changed to protect privacy) from La Jolla writes, “My toddler has totally gone on a hunger strike. She was never a picky eater and now will barely eat anything, and when she does it’s usually something unhealthy like french fries or hot dogs. I’m so desperate for her to consume some sort of food that I let her get away with eating these less than healthy picks. Our pediatrician says she’ll eat when she gets hungry but I’m really worried. Has anyone else experienced this ridiculous refusal to eat? Should I just wait it out?”

We’re leaving this one up to you Red Tricycle readers — do any of you have experience with a picky eater or a kid who refuses to eat? Do you have any advice for Anna and her closed-mouth little one?
