September 13 was #BumpDay. Women across the globe celebrated their beautiful baby bumps by using #BumpDay all over social media. So what exactly is Bump Day? The idea here is to raise awareness about the worldwide need for maternal healthcare. Even though you might have had access to a doctor, a midwife, a hospital and all kinds of OB care, not every woman is as lucky. In some places women have no access to maternal care. With that in mind, we’re taking a look at how some mamas celebrated this special day!
Along with the rest of us, plenty of celebs took to social media and celebrated #BumpDay. Actress Jaime Pressly, who is expecting twins, posted a sweet black and white portrait of herself (and her bump) on Instagram. Another expectant mom of twins, Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, also posted a pic on IG of herself and her bump.
Some celebs even posted throwback pics of themselves and their bumps. Amanda Seyfried and Sienna Miller showed off their past bumps on Instagram, all for a good cause. Okay, so maybe it’s more than just a “good” cause. Pregnancy-related problems claim more than 830 women’s lives each day around the world. Raising awareness of the need for quality prenatal care and maternal/child care after birth is absolutely essential to change this statistic and make pregnancy safer for every woman.
