If you’re like us, you love getting those happy little brown Amazon boxes on your front doorstep. But did you know you can also sell your stuff to the online shopping giant? It’s true! You can actually earn some money on the same site you likely spend all your dough with Amazon’s Trade-In Program. The easy-to-use program allows you to trade approved items in exchange for cash value in the form of an Amazon gift card. The program accepts all sorts of stuff, from textbooks and DVDs to electronics and video games.

Here’s How It Works:

1. Submit your trade-in request online. To find out what you can trade, go to Amazon’s Trade-In Store — where it will automatically list anything you’ve recently purchased that’s now eligible for trade! You can also search popular categories to see if you have anything acceptable. Once you’ve clicked on your items, Amazon will give you the allotted value (i.e. how much of a gift card you’ll get), at which point you can decide if you want to part with your stuff.

2. Amazon will give you a prepaid label and you must ship your trade-in within seven days of submitting the request.

3. If your product is accepted, you’ll get the gift card for the set cash value of your product; if not, you’ll get your items back within two weeks. Products are rejected if they are damaged in any way or don’t meet the original product description.

That’s it! Now cancel all future garage sales and start selling back your stuff. (Then, go buy some more.)
