The days of IKEA being nothing more than a place to furnish your first apartment out of college and eat some meatballs are long gone. The new 2018 catalogue is loaded with the proof. The vibrant colors and designer accents look more like they’ve come from Anthropologie than IKEA, but thankfully the prices remain the same first-apartment rates.

Despite looking more high-end than ever before, IKEA’s new looks are just as affordable and functional as ever. The new KOARP Armchair for example, is the perfect modern accent chair, but the cover is removable and washable (a must in houses with kids) and it features a pocket on the back to stash remotes or magazines for when the baby falls asleep on your lap and you don’t dare move.

From fluffy, colorful rugs to funky prints on pillows, and fixtures that will make it look like you spent a fortune on a bathroom renovation, the 2018 IKEA catalogue is bursting with things that will make you feel like you can actually have nice things, without the nevermind-the-kids-will-ruin-it prices.
