No one ever said that nursing a newborn is easy—and Khloe Kardashian’s recent tweets about breastfeeding got plenty of internet attention last night. While breastfeeding posts have been known to bring on super-charged debates, the responses to Kardashian’s tweet were filled with the support, caring and understanding that any new mommy oh-so-desperately needs.

The reality star, entrepreneur and new mama was asked by a fan on Twitter, “do you pump while you’re at work?” Fair question. After all, Kardashian is a working mama. And that makes it even more of a challenge to breastfeed on a regular schedule.

So how did Kardashian respond? She tweeted back, “I had to stop breast feeding, it was really hard for me to stop (emotionally) but it wasn’t working for my body. Sadly.” Hey, it happens. You try…and try and try and try some more—but it’s a no-go. And like some of us regular ol’ mamas, Kardashian has had to face this challenge too.

It was only one month ago that Kardashian tweeted about her initial struggles to nurse baby True. In June, she admitted that breastfeeding wasn’t exactly going well and she had to start supplementing with formula.

Plenty of Twitter followers offered support and their advice. One fellow mama tweeted, “Awww the trick is lots and lots of water and then more water.” Kardashian admitted, that despite her efforts, nothing worked. “Ugh it wasn’t that easy for me. I tried every trick in the book – water, special cookies, power pumping, massages etc. I tried so very hard to continue.”

Still, the support online was really powerful to read as other moms shared their stories.

We get it. Sometimes you picture mommy-ing going a certain way and it just doesn’t happen—even if you’re a celebrity.
