While millions of Americans were tuned into Super Bowl LII on Sunday—and man, what a GAME #FlyEaglesFly—a pretty big celebrity birth announcement managed to mostly fly under the radar. After months of speculation, Kylie Jenner not only confirmed she is—rather, was—pregnant all this time, but she had her baby on Thursday last week. Wait—what?! Yeah: Kylie Jenner was pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl.
The 20-year-old model and makeup mogul announced the birth of her daughter via Instagram post on Sunday. “I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” Jenner wrote. (Which, sidebar: Mama, you have no reason to apologize. No matter how famous you might be, you owe us nothing! Birth announcements shouldn’t have to start with “I’m sorry.” /end rant)
Jenner continued: “I appreciate my friends and especially my family for helping me make this special moment as private as we could. My beautiful and healthy baby girl arrived February 1st and I just couldn’t wait to share this blessing.” Jenner welcomed her daughter with 25-year-old rapper Travis Scott; according to ELLE UK, Jenner and Scott started dating April 2017.
Awww, too sweet! No word yet on Jenner and Scott’s daughter’s name—and it’s sure to be as anticipated as finding out big sister Kim Kardashian West’s third child’s name. And Jenner’s baby won’t the last to join the ranks of the Kardashian-Jenner tribe: sister Khloë Kardashian is also pregnant. While the 33-year-old model and reality star hasn’t publicly confirmed her due date, TMZ speculates Kardashian is due in late March or early April.
Since fans missed Jenner’s entire pregnancy—and again, a reminder that this new mama doesn’t owe fans a thing—she posted a beautiful video titled simply “To Our Daughter,” documenting her entire pregnancy to her YouTube channel. Get your tissues ready, because whether you love or hate the World of the Kardashians, it’s still a really moving video documenting a first-time mom-to-be journey.
Congrats to the new mom!
