If Lisa Loeb’s wistful voice was the soundtrack to your ’90’s life, then you’re going to love the new album she’s releasing. Instead of dreamy, break-up songs, however, this new record is all about a different kind of love: mom-hood.
On October 6, Lisa Loeb is dropping a brand new album of lullabies titled Lullaby Girl. The collection of jazzy, dream-inducing songs is nothing like any kids album you’ve ever heard. These songs were made for the listening enjoyment of all fans, no matter how old. As Loeb describes it to Entertainment Weekly, “It’s really just like the entertainment when I was a kid in the ’70s. It’s made for grown-ups but kids might enjoy it.”
The 13 songs featured on the album are all Loeb’s take on classic hits, like Dionne Warwick’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop.” If the rest of the record is anything like the pre-released single, “Be My Baby,” which you can stream exclusively through Entertainment Weekly here, then this is going to be a favorite you keep playing long after your kids no longer request lullabies. The album is available for pre-order on Amazon Music now.
