Fuel your young space explorer’s curiosity with a kit that lets them construct their own Curiosity…Rover, that is! The new littleBits Space Rover Inventor Kit is the perfect STEAM project for little engineers who love outer space.

The new littleBits Space Rover kit gives you everything you need to construct a working rover that can be controlled by a smartphone app. It can even collect samples the same way a real space rover does! The kit comes with electronic building blocks and “bits” so that little inventors can both build and program their rover.

After constructing the base, kids can choose how they want to outfit their rovers. They could for example, add on a space hammer for rock crushing. Other options include a cargo carrier and super scooper, solar arrays, a motion detector and a rover arm.

The adjoining app not only helps control all of the functions of the completed rover, but it will also challenge kids to complete different activities with their bots, like navigating an obstacle course.

“We [littleBits] want to empower kids to invent the world they want to live in,” Ayah Bdeir, founder and CEO of the company, said in a statement. “We are inspired by this generation’s desire to help others, improve their communities, or break new barriers in music making and space science. Our newest line of products is designed to equip them with what they need to understand how technology around them works, get excited about STEM/STEAM and use invention methods to make their creative ideas happen.”

The new littleBits Space Rover Inventor Kit is now available on Amazon and littleBits.com for $199.
