Do you know a hero? It doesn’t take a cape and tights for your favorite fearless female to be a hero in the community. L’Oreal’s “Women of Worth” award is in its thirteenth year of honoring those of us who have a passion for giving back. And yes, they’re looking for nominees—right now.

Along with Points of Light (a mega-organization that’s dedicated to volunteer service), L’Oreal Paris is honoring National Volunteer Month by recognizing women who serve their communities. Well, maybe that’s more than serving their communities. The iconic beauty brand’s “Women of Worth” platform is dedicated to giving women who go above and beyond and empower others what they’re due. And what is that exactly? To start with, the recognition that they totally deserve.

Every year the “Women of Worth” nominations open and L’Oreal Paris gets thousands of nominations. They then have the extremely challenging task of picking 10 finalists from the many, many deserving ladies.

L’Oreal Paris USA President, Tim Coolican, said (in a press release), “Women of Worth is the cornerstone of the L’Oreal Paris brand and embodies our mission to empower women across the country to celebrate their worth.”

The 10 Honorees each receive financial support, in the form of $10,000, for their organizations.  Of course, they also get a major platform for their causes, making the opportunity beyond valuable. One National Honoree will be chosen from the 10 and will receive an additional $25,000 for her organization. Oh, and the National Honoree isn’t chosen by just anyone. Nope. She’s chosen by you—the voting public.

If you know a woman of worth, you can nominate her for this award by visiting the L’Oreal Paris website anytime from now through May 1.
