where: Los Angeles Arboretum, 301 North Baldwin Ave., Arcadia, Ca

cost: $3-$5

the scoop:

The one problem with the beautiful Arboretum in the summer is – it’s hot.  Darn hot.  Too darn hot.  The solution?  Come at night.  The evening cool, you bring a picnic (or get food at the Peacock Cafe), stroll the grounds, and then pull up a blanket or lawn chair for the concert.  Tonight’s concert is the last of the summer and features the Steven Rushingwind Project, playing native world flute music.
