the scoop:

You simply can’t miss this L.A. tradition – seeing the Nutcracker performed by over 100 of legendary puppeteer Bob Baker’s famous marionettes. This performance, perfect for even kiddos too little to sit through a ballet, features all the characters from the beloved story: Clara and the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugarplum Fairies, the Mouse King, and many more – it’s a true puppet extravaganza.

The production features every style of puppetry from marionettes to shadow puppets, this is truly a “Nutcracker” unlike any other.  Kids enjoy free ice cream after the show, and babies under 2 are free.  Shows are weekdays at 10:30 a.m. and weekends at 2:30 p.m.

The Bob Baker Marionette Theater has been declared an historic cultural monument by the city of Los Angeles, and performs in the nation’s oldest ongoing puppet theater. Make this holiday performance annual tradition for your family!
