the scoop:

Japanese graphic designer Awazu Kiyoshi had a signature style that wove together folklore and city life, all in bright colors. Check out posters and prints he designed to promote theater and film in the exhibition Awazu Kiyoshi, Graphic Design: Summoning the Outdated. Make your own posters and learn unique techniques in artist-led workshops.

And while you’re at the museum, don’t miss Chris Burden’s kinetic sculpture, Metropolis II. Kids can sit mesmerized for ages at this whizzing, whirring mass. It’s in action every Sunday (Fridays and Saturdays, too.)

LACMA’s Andell Family Sundays are programs designed especially for families: make art, look at art, and talk about art together in workshops and bilingual gallery tours. Most of all—have fun.

The program is free with admission, and kids always get free admission for themselves and an accompanying adult with the LACMA NexGen program! Please remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
