You’re surrounded by people decked out in phenomenal orange attire to celebrate the birthday of King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands. It must be Dutch King’s Day! The largest King’s Day Party in the world happens in Amsterdam on April 27th – the official birthday of the King. And this is the largest Orange Party in Southern California.
This family friendly, outdoor event features typical Dutch street food like, kroketten, bitterballen (bread crumbed meat-based snack roll or ball), patat friet (Dutch fries with different toppings), ‘Hollandse haring’ (raw herring flown in from Holland), poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes), all kinds of home baked Dutch cookies like stroopwafels and imported prepackaged delicacies. Also find Indonesian street food (part of Dutch culinary heritage) like satay and lumpia. Plus music, games and a beer garden – this is a family party not to be missed.
