Fun fact: Griffith Park is over 5 times bigger than NY’s Central Park. With hikes, zoos, museums, beer (!), trains, playgrounds, ponies, golf, a carousel and lots more (all costing very little or nothing at all) it’s time to click through the slideshow and discover a baker’s dozen of the coolest places you just might not have visited in our gigantic urban forest.

Get Inspired at Shane’s Inspiration

As the first universally accessible playground on the West Coast (and the largest in the country), this special place set the bar for how much fun kiddos of all abilities can have when given the chance to play together. From its airplane cockpit and train to the monkey bars and rocket ship, this 2-acre play space literally has something for everybody.

Bonus: You can walk from here to the Old Zoo or the Carousel, so it makes a perfect jumping off spot to spend the whole day.

Find It: 4800 Crystal Springs Rd.
