Explore: LA’s Arboretum
Take the kids on an botanic adventure without having to deal with the 405. Get wild and get lost in the beautiful and expansive Arboretum of Los Angeles. Open daily in neighboring Arcadia, The Arboretum and Botanic Garden is home to 232 varieties of birds, and thousands of plants, and fantastic historic buildings, and lots and lots of peacocks.
Have a dinosaur lover? Pack a picnic and pay a to visit the prehistoric/tropical jungle section by the lake. Little train enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the perfectly preserved Santa Anita Depot. Saturdays join an adventure guide as you explore the Arboretum with a different theme relating to nature. Free with admission but space is limited so arrive early, all ages welcome.
Be sure to catch the Bookworms story time in The Arboretum Library which involves not only toddler friendly plant & nature stories but a take home craft as well.
Admission:Adults $7, children 5 to 12 $2.50, under 4 get in free. Open daily 9am to 5pm, no admission after 4:30pm.
