the scoop:

The first peoples used the night sky for many reasons such as storytelling, cultural activities, games and travel orientation. The “Moon Races” were performed by the Tongva people during the thinnest sliver of the moon. During this program you will learn the significance of the “Moon Races” and be able to see a demonstration before it gets to dark.

Additional astronomical facts and stories will be shared by Hupa Native American Artist and Story Teller, Kat High. Kat will also be accompanied by astronomer Glen Miller with further information of our wondrous night sky.
This program is for all ages. There are no reservations required for this program.
