the scoop:

The Kingdom Day Parade is a day of celebration that remembers the life and legacy of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King along with his wife, Coretta Scott King, who paved the way to establish equality, justice and social unity throughout this country.

The Los Angeles celebration is the largest parade in the country honoring the late Dr. King. There will be over 150 floats (more than the Rose Parade!) as well as marching bands, military units, dance groups and horses. After the parade you can join a day-long festival with music, dancing, delicious food and performances.  This year’s theme is “Now More Than Ever, We All Must Work Together.”
