Sunset Vestage Sky Art
A cloud of vibrant streamers greets visitors to Burton W. Chace Park through Jul. 1, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and local artist Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics. Shearn’s Sunset Vestige is a 5,000-square-foot Skynet piece consisting of more than 40,000 streamers that dance on the ocean breeze. The vibrant artwork emulates the glow of a California sunset, contrasting with the serene, coastal ambiance of Marina del Rey. You’ll find it at the far end of the park, along the Main Channel. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Take a Moonlit Hike with the Tree People

Hundreds of artists come from all across Southern California to spend two days on their hands and knees creating spectacular chalk murals on concrete areas in every style imaginable. Thrive in Joy Youth Baseball Clinic
Join youth baseball players ages 7-13 from across the region for the 3rd Annual Thrive in Joy Foundation Youth Baseball Clinic, led by Notre Dame High School coaches at the school’s state-of-the-art baseball facility in Sherman Oaks. Head JV coach, Brian Milone, assisted by fellow Notre Dame Knights baseball coaches and team members, will run the junior players clinic focused on both physical and mental game strategy. Players will be grouped by skill level for pitching, hitting, running, fielding and mental strategy training and the clinic will conclude with an inspirational talk on the value of character.
