Veterans Appreciation Festival
The Battleship IOWA Museum also known as  “Battleship of Presidents will celebrate the day of our service people in uniform. The family-friendly day will include a variety of fun experiences for everyone to enjoy, including but not limited to: Live bands and DJ, Free food sponsored by Black Knight Patrol, Sailor’s Bar sponsored by West Coast Beverage, Vintage vehicles and a 5″ gun salute at 11-11 to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I (Active battle ended at 11:00 a.m. on November 11, 1918). JANM Family Day: Superheroes!
This full day of crafts, performances, and other activities will be inspired by real-life heroes as well as the fictional characters of Kaiju vs Heroes: Mark Nagata’s Journey through the World of Japanese Toys. Sat. Event details.

Magical Lantern Light Festival
A fantasy of light transforms the Arboretum into an evening wonderland. Magnificent lantern art depicting exotic animals, shimmering flowers, whimsical pandas, soaring dragons and other themes create the mesmerizing experience of Moonlight Forest. Henry & Eva and the Castle on the Cliff
Enjoy a book launch and story time with bestselling author Andrea Portes as she reads from her new children’s book, “Henry & Eva and the Castle on the Cliff.” This is appropriate for all ages over 4 but would be most enjoyed by the Harry Potter age rage, so, let’s say, 7-12. Andrea Portes is not only an author, but a mother as well. Rumor has it that she wrote the book to impress her son, who enjoys spooky things that are not too scary! Veterans Day 2018 at Forest Lawn
In a spectacular and patriotic celebration, Forest Lawn Memorial—Parks & Mortuaries will honor veterans with the Veterans Day 2018 event at Forest Lawn—Hollywood Hills. The free event will recognize the dedicated service of the members of the United States military with a skydiving jump by Golden Stars Skydiving Team, a Veterans Day Flyover by The Condor Squad, patriotic music, a rifle salute by Officer Mike McCarty of the LAPD Honor Guard, a benediction by Monsignor Frank Hicks, a color guard, a wreath laying, and more. The pinnacle event at Forest Lawn—Hollywood Hills culminates celebrations at Forest Lawn—Cathedral City and Douglass & Zook Mortuary. Each guest will also be given a commemorative pin and can enjoy refreshments. Sun. Event details.

For over 20 years, the Dale Fielder Quartet (DFQ) has been a part of the jazz scene in Southern California and across the country. The multi-instrumentalist is best known for his baritone sax playing and as a leader, has recorded over 14 chart-topping CDs. Veterans Day at Ronald Reagan Library
To honor the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces, the Ronald Reagan Presidential  Library will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Event on Mon., Nov. 12.
