It’s a long and lovely weekend for Veterans Day! All across the City of Angels there are parades and events honoring the men and women who have bravely served our country, and we’ve highlighted a few favorites here. There are also ways to play and dance and run and celebrate together, whether you’re making art, playing with the animals, checking out dancing horses (or people!) or meeting animals at the zoo and in the orchestra. JANM Family Day: We Love LA

Diavolo Dance
There’s an entire day of programming, starting with a free outdoor community festival at 11 a.m. Capping the day is Diavolo’s newest work, The Veterans Project, which brings together the company’s dancers with veterans from the US armed forces. Sat. Event details.

A Wilderness Survival Class
Learn some of the basics and tips for getting along in the wilderness. Sat. Event details.

Calabasas Fun Run
Serious runners can speed through the 5K/10K run course and kids can jog along the 1 mile Fun Run that explores the beautiful local side streets. Sun. Event details.

Simi Valley

Reagan Library Veterans Day
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is hosting its annual Veterans Day event with live musical entertainment, a civil war encampment, a military vehicle display and a program honoring all branches of our military. Fri. Event details.

Cavalia Odysseo
