With LA’s vast array of eateries, it’s not too hard to find one with a kids menu. However, these brilliant spots go the extra mile of keeping kids entertained long enough to let you chew, taste and even savor your food. So long mad dash dining; flip through and check out our picks for the best restaurants with pre & post (and even during) meal distractions.

Cafe 50’s

This kitschy diner is an oldie, but a goodie. The walls, plastered with retro signs and movie posters, offer plenty to look at and the 45 different flavors of milkshakes are enough to keep anyone happy, but the real fun here is the piles of classic board games stacked in the back. Grab a box and try to sink your kiddo's Battleship, while you wait for those shakes and burgers to hit the table. This place is also great for a belly-busting breakfast served with some table-side magic at brunch time on the weekends (Sat. and Sun. 11 a.m.-2 p.m.). The magician will wow your junior brunchers with some silly tricks, while they devour a short stack and some crispy bacon.
