Marbles might feel like an old school toy, but thanks to the MarbleLympics they are ready for a comeback. Check out the video below and get ready for the kids to set off a new playground craze.

It’s hard to get much simpler than a small, round glass marble when it comes to playtime, but when you add some ramps, gears and funnels, those basic marbles turn into racing machines that can zoom, jump and set new world records. The opening ceremonies video for the 2017 MarbleLympics launched on YouTube this month, followed by the video of the first event, the long jump.

If your family has caught marble fever, stayed tuned to Jelle’s Marble Runs YouTube channel for the next events, including fidget spinner collision and hurdles. Each one takes a lot of work and time to set up, so while you wait, try racing some marble events of your own at home.
